California Budget Dreamin’…Wake up to IOU Reality

California Dreamin’ Hits the IOU Blues
California, believe it or not is the world’s eighth largest economy but its financial situation is swirling in a toilet bowl of conflict. We continue to hear the battle in Sacramento to balance our California Budget. How do we tell the Democrats & Republicans to Not Bogart the Budget! A two-thirds majority is required to pass any budget, but Republicans, with just over a third of the legislature, are refusing to support tax rises while the Democrats are balking at spending cuts. How can we make Sacramento hear us? Haven’t we all had enough? Can’t we all just be friends and go out for a big bowl of ice cream? Would love to hear your ideas, but in the meantime I’m letting off my stress by stoning them. Remember to share a giggle and support a local business!
Great Time to Have Your Insurance Evaluated…Combine & Save $$$
Posted by DonnaKobyluk in Business Links, Station Wagon Stops on June 19th, 2009

Recession Stone Station Wagon cruised over to Gina Vallee’s new State Farm office location, 638 El Camino Real, San Carlos, CA. It’s a great time to have your insurance evaluated. A recession doesn’t mean that people no longer need insurance – if anything, the opposite is true. When the economic outlook is gloomy, people worry about security for them, their family, job or business and about paying their bills. They may cut back on discretionary spending and focus on the essentials. That’s where insurance advisers prove their worth. State Farm has remained the largest automobile insurer in the United States continuously since 1942 and insures more cars and homes in the United States than any other insurer. Money is tight, why not get your policies compared. State Farm saved us big Automobile Insurance $$$$. Wow, able to combine the Tonka Truck, Speedy Sedan, and HotWheel Sally with the Recession Stone Station Wagon. No more auto policies at different insurance agencies. We should have done this earlier!! Thanks State Farm!
Get your insurance reviewed from Gina Vallee. New office location, drive up to 638 El Camino Real, San Carlos, CA 94070. Give her a chat, 650-593-8425 Check out her website for a free quote. Don’t forget to ask her about life insurance, a speciality of hers.

To Graduate or Move Home? Which is Worse?
Posted by DonnaKobyluk in Station Wagon Stops on June 18th, 2009
Recession Stone Station Wagon chats with a recent Cal State Graduate. Jobs are scarce, be responsible, go back home after college! This grad has only till end of July then funds run out and back she goes…HOME! Now anyone with an HR opening in Sacramento? The Recession Stone Station Wagon’s hub caps are shaking, oh no she’s coming back to quarrel and bitch at her twin brother.
But when you look closely, it is glaringly apparent that moving back in with parents is one of the the most responsible things a new college grad can do. By sucking it up at home for a year or two, young people give themselves the opportunity to take control of their career, take control of their finances and transition from the care-free college fantasy world to the real-world of work, marriage, kids, mortgages and car payments.
Be Responsible
However, this article will teach you the simple ways to keep yourself from losing your cool.

Wow..great Indie/Rock Band in Pittsburg. “Elegant, beautiful and intelligent. Recession is the kind of music that draws you in and holds you in its space. Atmospheric with lovely piano and guitar dancing about; each song exceptionally laid out.” Wish this old recession stone station wagon could cruise into Pittsburg, don’t think my old tires could make it. Found them on twitter and looking forward to their tweets: wearerecession

Happy Cinco de Mayo! If life gives you limes, make Margaritas.
Posted by DonnaKobyluk in Station Wagon Stops, The Story on May 5th, 2009

I need something to get me back on track with this blog. Have so many photos & adventures to upload. Great time traveling Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Ok as long as I didn’t pass out my Bush Stone “It’s clearly a budget. It’s got a lot of number in it” then the locals chatted with me. Everyone I spoke with is being “Stoned”~hit by the recession. So if life gives you limes, make margaritas. Lemons are too pricey right now. Just find some time to chill out. Do you like your margarita’s frozen or on the rocks? I prefer over stones…. ![]()
A little mouthwash, some Sprite, crushed ice. It’s the Great Recession Margarita! Unemployed
followed with Trailer Park worthy:Beer-garita, another Poor Man’s Margarita
QVC- selling a $250 Margarita Maker….what? don’t they know we are in a recession. Yep that’s what I need another gizmo to find a cabinet space for. Still trying to shove the panini maker in between the 1985 sandwich maker and 1990 yogurt maker. Crap they just don’t make that cabinet above the refrigerator big enough.

Recession Stone Station Wagon anxiously left SFO, gate 63 on a full 757 to St. Louis MO. Yep a lot of travelers for a Wednesday. Not much elbow room. Made sure our tank was full, since all you get is high carb costly snacks and free soda. A rather turbulent flight with a heavy windshield wiper movie, Marley & Me. How have your airplane adventures been? Crowded airplanes? Extra baggage charges? It’s one of the best times to fly, great recession pricing. Cheap flights

It’s time to let it out, open the door and …start skipping. Let out a giggle or too and enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Make sure you do those extra skips to counterbalance the waiting See’s Candy Light Bordeaux Easter Egg, the one with all those chocolate sprinkles. Yummy! Recession Short Quote ideas- Thinking Outside of The Pet Rock Box Idea
Posted by DonnaKobyluk in The Story, skipping on April 6th, 2009
It must be Monday! Slight gloom in the air, attempting to organize another motivating week. That didn’t come out very positive. Wait hurray just received 1000 burlap bungalow homes for the recession stone adventure. My goal is to sell 1000 in May. Starting off at the DeAnza Flea Market on May 2. Need to get working on engraving. Looking for Recession Stone quotes. Such as: Don’t Be Stoned Alone, Passing a Recession Stone..ooh that’s got to Hurt!, It’s clearly a budget. It’s got a lot of numbers in it. ~George W. Bush.
Help me inspire a Chuckle. What “off” the recession stone quote ideas do you have?
Monday Get Up & Make it Happen Dance!!! But replace Wealth Man in this song with.. the new Pet Rock Idea…haven’t we all wished we could create the next out of the box idea?
